GrassRoots Baseball, Inc. was formed in 2002 to become the dream and vision vehicle to bring the finest in true baseball and softball facilities to Southern Illinois and the Lower Midwest. Located just 1 ½ hrs. from St. Louis, 1 ¾ hrs. from Evansville, Indiana, 1 ¼ hrs. north of Paducah, KY and less than one hour from Cape Girardeau, MO, POWERade® PARK has become a center for baseball camps, clinics, league play, tournaments, state & regional events, showcase events and any activities revolving around Our National Pastime. Spring and summer of 2008 saw over 200 games played at POWERade® Park - - we expect to at least double that number for the 2009 season!
We are proud to announce that PowerAde Park's fields are now:
THE DINGER DIAMOND (our north field,now a full -size 60/90 field), THE SILKWORM SANDLOTT (now a multi-size baseball and softball with 60', 70', & 80' bases and a $4000 Tru-Pitch portable mound), and BRYAN'S HEATING & AC BALLYARD (girl's softball field and boys 8u-10u field)!!!
The two youth fields are small-scale major league fields with sports turf outfields, major league pro-choice infield skin areas, and pliable-brick plate areas. Fifteen-foot warning tracks surround the fields, just like big league parks, and each miniature ballpark has a covered grandstand, three-sided seating areas, exceptional dugouts, a 16-32 foot batters eye, foul poles/screen with pennants atop, sound system, the National Anthem before every game, watered infield, white lines and the sounds of a real old-style baseball, and now girl's softball- the Crack of the Bat!
You can have a team picnic catered before or after any game, bring your employees or office staff, groups of any size for a fun day/evening out at the ballpark. Enjoy crack-of-the-bat, old-style, hootin' & hollerin', picnics, activities, games and anything that revolves around a ballpark —— the cheapest, G-rated, family good time around! Wood bats & metal spikes only!
